Annual Food Bloggers Picnic (2012)

As we watch another year slip through out fingers we take the opportunity to indulge and celebrate. Christmas, New Year and of course, the annual food bloggers picnic. With 99 participants we showcased amazing food, put faces to blog, and took part in the worlds longest Kris Kringle.

DATE: 24th Nov, 2012

VENUE:  Centennial Park, Sydney

HASHTAG:  #Sydfbxmas2012

FLICKS TAKE ON THE DAY:

Just imagine asking over 80 food savvy bloggers to bring a plate of food to share. There was no bag of chips or store brought dip but instead the finest and most trendiest food known to man. From a homemade cheese plate, macarons, Turkey Oreos, A pop up bar, Rhubarb Meringue tarts. You can tell a food blogger from everyone else, as the food laden tables, set out against the glimmering of the sun, only cameras were allowed ensuring the right shot was captured (no touching or tasting). Then once everyone was finished snapping, the feast officially began! I was too busy socializing with other food bloggers to get photos of all food displayed. I know, how can I call myself a food blogger!

Sydney Food bloggers picnic 2012

To finish off a great day was the kris kringle ($10 gift). Instead of the traditional layout, it was decided to play Kris Kringle Steal, where you have the option of stealing another person’s gift (which was previously unwrapped). This caused the game to go on for well beyond the hour, and towards the end there was some serious stealing going on between a pizza stone, a lens cup, a jelly bear mould and a talking cookie jars. Embarrassed to say, I was one who involved with the stealing J. Sorry to Crunchy Tiger for starting the steal with the talking cookie jar.

Thankyou to Chocolate Suze and Grab Your Fork for organizing another successful Picnic. For a review look at last years event click here.
